I saw this tutorial: http://shanty2chic.blogspot.com/2010/12/photo-block-tutorial-great-gift.html on Ucreate the other day and decided this is what I was going to make one for two of my friends for Christmas.
For the blocks I used a 2 x 4 and cut the smaller ones 3.5 inches and the larger ones 4.5 inches. I then routered the edges. I loved how they turned out.
